Daily Worship
Every day at 4:30 AM and 6:00 PM
The monastery conducts daily prayer rituals every morning and evening. These include mantra chanting, meditation, and prayers. All devotees are welcome to participate.
Morning Worship
Includes Buddha Vandana (homage), mantra chanting, and meditation. Begins at 4:30 AM and lasts for about one hour.
Evening Worship
Includes Buddha Vandana, mantra chanting, and prayers. Begins at 6:00 PM and lasts for about one hour.
Weekly Meditation
Every Saturday | 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Group meditation sessions are held every Saturday. These include instruction and practice of various meditation techniques. Open to all age groups.
Meditation Instruction
Experienced meditation teachers guide participants through different techniques. Beginners are taught the basics.
Group Meditation
Following the instructions, all participants practice meditation together for about 45 minutes.
Q&A Session
After the session, participants can share experiences and ask questions. Teachers provide guidance and support.
Buddhist Study Classes
Every Sunday and Wednesday | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Buddhist study classes are conducted on Sundays and Wednesdays. These classes cover Buddhist philosophy, history, and practice. Open to all age groups.
Sunday Class
Focuses on Buddhist philosophy and history.
Wednesday Class
The Wednesday class covers Buddhist practices and meditation. This class is open to people of all ages.
Community Service
First Saturday of Every Month | 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
The monastery organizes monthly community service programs including cleanup drives, tree plantation, and other local service activities. Volunteers are welcome.
Cleanup Campaign
Volunteers clean the monastery premises and surrounding areas, contributing to environmental conservation.
Tree Plantation
Seasonal tree planting events are organized to beautify and protect the environment.
Other Service Activities
Depending on need, other services include visits to elderly homes, orphanages, and local support initiatives.

Saga Dawa Festival
Month of Jestha (Buddha Purnima)
Saga Dawa commemorates Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana. The monastery hosts special rituals, meditation camps, dharma talks, and cultural programs.
Thousands of devotees, including locals, officials, and international visitors, participate. The monastery is adorned with colorful flags and lights.
Losar Festival
Magh/Falgun (Tibetan New Year)
Celebrated with special prayers, cultural programs, and communal feasts. Traditional dances, songs, and games are performed. The monastery is beautifully decorated, and traditional dishes are prepared.
During this festival, devotees from both the local community and various places participate. Throughout the festival, the monastery grounds are specially decorated, and traditional foods are prepared.
Guru Purnima
Month of Ashar (Full Moon)
Held in honor of spiritual teachers. The monastery organizes special prayers, teacher appreciation ceremonies, and dharma teachings. Devotees offer gifts and seek blessings from their gurus.
On this day, special puja ceremonies are held at the monastery, and devotees offer gifts and offerings to the gurus. On the occasion of Guru Purnima, the gurus bless the devotees and provide spiritual teachings.
Cham Dance
Month of Poush
Cham is a sacred masked dance performed by monks representing various deities. It holds deep spiritual and cultural significance and attracts large crowds. Traditional food and handicrafts are sold during the event.
A large number of local community members and tourists participate in this event. During the Cham dance performance, a special fair is held on the monastery grounds, where various traditional foods and handicrafts are sold.
Meditation Retreat Programs
The monastery organizes various meditation retreats for learning and practicing Buddhist meditation, chanting, and spiritual disciplines. Retreats range from one day to one month.
Advance registration is required to participate in the meditation retreats. Arrangements for lodging and meals are provided for the participants at the monastery premises. The meditation retreats are conducted by experienced meditation masters.
One-Day Retreat
One-day meditation retreats are held on the third Saturday of every month. These retreats teach and practice basic meditation techniques. They are suitable for new participants.

One-Week Retreat
One-week meditation retreats are held every six months. These retreats offer intensive meditation practice and Buddhist teachings. They are suitable for experienced participants.
Advance registration and payment are required to participate in the one-week meditation retreat. Arrangements for lodging and meals are provided for participants at the monastery premises.
One-Month Retreat
The one-month meditation retreat is held once a year. This retreat includes intensive meditation practice, Buddhist teachings, and other spiritual practices. It is suitable for highly experienced participants.
Advance registration, an interview, and payment are required to participate in the one-month meditation retreat. Arrangements for lodging and meals are provided for participants at the monastery premises.

Youth Programs
The Thakchen Pema Choling Monastery organizes various programs for young people. The aim of these programs is to teach youth about Buddhist teachings, moral values, and positive lifestyles. The youth programs are designed for different age groups.
Children's Buddhist Class
A Buddhist education class for children aged 5-12. These classes teach Buddhist stories, moral education, and basic meditation practices.
Teen Buddhist Class
A Buddhist education class for teens aged 13-18. These classes teach Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and life skills.
Buddhist Art Class
A Buddhist art class for youth of all ages. These classes teach Thangka painting, sculpture, and other Buddhist arts.
Buddhist Music Class
A Buddhist music class for youth of all ages. These classes teach Buddhist mantras, bhajans, and playing musical instruments.
Youth Camp
A residential camp for youth aged 13-25. These camps include Buddhist education, meditation, yoga, and other activities.
Youth Volunteer Program
A volunteer program for youth aged 16-25. In this program, young people engage in various service activities at the monastery and within the community.
