Thekchhen Pema Chholing Monastery
Thekchhen Pema Chholing Monastery, located in the lap of Mount Sagarmatha, the highest peak in the world, is a Buddhist monastery (temple) and study center based on the Mahayana Buddhist tradition.
In various villages of Solududhakunda Municipality, monks from this monastery provide services for various rituals and emergency religious activities. Currently, the monastery has a total of 25 lamas, including students, who are engaged in the study and teaching of pure and uninterrupted Buddhist Mahayana tradition. Regular Buddhist classes for the general public are also conducted starting from 04:30 AM, enabling a significant number of town residents to receive Buddhist education.
Starting in 1993 A.D. and officially established in 1995 A.D., this monastery was formally registered in 2001 A.D. In 2026 A.D., it will celebrate its 25th anniversary since official registration, marking its silver jubilee with various programs and events.
